THE PURPOSE BEHIND THE PRODUCT

Why I invented
PillDot.

I wanted a pill organizer that fits the way people live.

As a cardiologist, I wanted to address a practical part of medication adherence: giving the pills people carry an organized, familiar place through the day.

That led to PillDot: four compartments in a compact case, with a magnetic connection that lets it move between compatible surfaces and holders.

The goal is simple: a personal organizer that belongs among the things you reach for, wherever your routine takes you.

THE CHALLENGE BEHIND PILLDOT

A widespread challenge.
A practical place to start.

PillDot focuses on a practical part of this challenge: organizing the pills you carry and giving them a familiar place.

THE SCALE OF THE CHALLENGE~50%

Filled prescriptions taken incorrectly.

A 2017 review estimated errors in timing, dose, frequency, or duration for approximately half of filled prescriptions.

THE HUMAN COST125,000

Estimated U.S. deaths each year.

An estimate of the annual U.S. toll associated with poor medication adherence.

THE EVERYDAY BARRIER29%

Missed a dose because pills were elsewhere.

58 of 200 U.S. medication users reported this at least monthly in a 2019 survey, published in 2023.

Published estimates concern different populations. The 200-person survey was self-reported and not nationally representative. These studies did not test PillDot.

Why routine and location matter.

In the same 200-person survey, 44% reported forgetting a dose at least monthly. These findings help explain the everyday challenge PillDot is designed around.

A focused design response.

PillDot combines separate compartments, magnetic placement, and a portable case to bring organization into everyday settings.
